Help!

Okay, so I am ALWAYS getting bloody noses! (it's some weird genetic thing, it's not like I'm being punched in the face constantly and I also live in Utah the state of dryness!) I get at LEAST 2-3 a week! And I have a LOT of scouter friends out there that know first aid and all that jazz and I was just wondering if you could tell me a good way to get rid of them? I know that you are supposed to pinch the top of your nose and put your head between your knees (or something like that) but is there something else?

Well, thanks in advance!!!

(weird post right? I only posted on here about this because I deleted my facebook...)

  1. Okay. First thing is to stay hydrated and eat plenty of salty things, but if it's too late, you should tip your head up and put a wet, cool cloth on the back of your neck, as well as a wet tissue across the bridge of your nose. This works wonders.

I don't get bloody noses myself, but I have been the Laurel president for a very long time. :)

  3. So, I know his comment is coming late but I am also a fellow nose bleeder! They are always worse in the winter but if you put Vaseline in your nose it will help prevent them. If you already have one, I blow my nose to get the clot out then I like to use moist tissues and actually stick it in my nose. I have found that is the quickest way to stop it. For the really bad ones, that won't stop, plug your nose and use ice on the bridge of your nose for 10 minutes, if all else fails, use Afrin nasal spray. Can you tell I've done this before! Haha

  4. My kids also deal with this occasionally, and the Dr. said to have them sleep with a humidifier/vaporizer going in their room. It sure seems to help them. Good luck. Oh, and happy birthday!

  6. I have a friend who is very passionate about bloody noses....He says to lean over a sink and put a wad of toilet paper between your teeth and upper lip. I've discovered pressing on your upper lip works just as well.
